What membership looks like

Every member joins a cohort that blends mentoring, board meeting sessions and hands-on projects. The experience is tailored to your goals and grounded in community.

  • Co-designed journeys Members build a personal development plan and work alongside advisors who share similar stories.
  • Peer accountability Cohort circles of three to four members meet regularly to test ideas, share wins and hold each other accountable.
  • Amplified storytelling Members gain platforms to share their voice through networking nights, development sessions, media features and partner showcases.

Yash Kamal · Cohort One

Senior Rail Engineer blending technical excellence with community impact. Yash mentors young people from migrant backgrounds, helping them build confidence and see what is possible.

IIG ignited his entrepreneurial drive: he co-founded Brisbane United FC to bring multicultural communities together through sport and is expanding a hospitality technology venture, alongside his civil engineering career.

Client-focused project management professional known for proactive stakeholder engagement. Through IIG she learned to plan for success, lean into her potential and assert herself in male-dominated environments.

Ghada credits the mentoring sessions and advisor support for giving her the confidence to contribute more, speak up and pursue bigger opportunities.

Ariana Doolan MP · Cohort Three

Queensland Member for Pumicestone and the youngest woman ever elected to the state parliament. Ariana joined IIG while preparing her campaign and received coaching in public speaking, leadership and community engagement.

She credits the program and her mentors with helping her communicate authentically, run a values-driven campaign and celebrate graduation on the floor of parliament.

Alumni & advisors

Alumni, advisors and partners continue to walk alongside every cohort after graduation.

  • Mentoring: Tailored matching with 15+ advisors and mentors across finance, law, media and health.
  • Governance: Access to AICD course materials delivered by Dr Matthew Turnour FAICD.
  • Community: Alumni return as facilitators, speakers and sponsors to help the next cohort thrive.

Recent cohort wins

  • Alumni co-facilitated the 2024 cohort alongside IIG advisors.
  • Tarig Legacy Youth, co-founded by alumni, is hosting football clinic for young leaders aged 6–18.
  • Alumni facilitate quarterly networking nights that introduce new faces to the IIG community.
